How to make festive chocolate chip cookies

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (or ~180 degrees Celsius).

In a bowl designated for wet ingredients, add butter, shortening and water and beat until well combined. Shortening makes the cookie extra soft & chewy!

Into the butter mixture, add white sugar, brown sugar and combine together.

Next add egg, vanilla and beat once again until well combined. Set aside.

In a separate bowl designated for dry ingredients, add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.

Whisk together the flour mixture

Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture.

Beat together until well combined.
